Kannada is such an amazing and sweet language
Kannada is such an amazing and sweet language. Although I am Tamil by birth and have made Kolkata my home, and love Bengali as much as I love my mother tongue Tamil, I have a deep-rooted love for the Kannada language and culture. This fondness stems from my childhood spent in Bangalore, from birth up to class 4.
Growing up in Bangalore, I was immersed in the Kannada language and the vibrant culture of the region. The rhythmic sounds of Kannada, the warmth of its people, and the rich traditions left an indelible mark on me. From the bustling markets to the serene parks, every aspect of Bangalore life was intertwined with Kannada, shaping my early years in a profound way.
As a child, I remember the joy of celebrating various festivals where the entire community came together in a display of unity and tradition. The melodious songs, the traditional dances, and the delicious cuisine of Karnataka became an integral part of my identity. These experiences cultivated a deep appreciation for the language and its cultural nuances.
Even after moving to Kolkata, where I embraced the Bengali language and culture with equal fervor, my love for Kannada remained undiminished. I often find myself reminiscing about the stories, proverbs, and songs in Kannada that were a staple of my childhood. This connection to Kannada is a testament to the enduring impact of those early years in Bangalore.
This multicultural background has enriched my life, allowing me to appreciate the beauty and diversity of India's linguistic heritage. Each language has its own charm and significance, contributing to my personal and cultural growth.
While my roots are Tamil and my home is now in Kolkata, the Kannada language and culture hold a special place in my heart. The formative years spent in Bangalore have left me with cherished memories and a lasting bond with Kannada. This love for Kannada is a beautiful reminder of the diverse experiences that have shaped me into who I am today.
