Sometimes, creativity takes the road less traveled. In Minsara Kanavu (1997), we had a tune that was unique—starting with a non-traditional melody and shifting into Tamil folk. When Vairamuthu sir first heard it, he felt it was too alien for Tamil cinema and predicted audiences might reject it. Reluctantly, we set it aside.

A week later, Rajeev revisited it and said, "This actually sounds good!" With renewed hope, we approached Vairamuthu sir, who was recovering from a fever. Despite initial hesitation, his poetic genius brought life to the tune, and "O Lalala" was born.

The song went on to win Chitra the National Award for Best Female Playback Singer, proving that daring to experiment creates timeless art. Paired with A.R. Rahman’s soulful music, Rajiv Menon’s stunning visuals, and stellar performances by Kajol, Arvind Swamy, and Prabhu Deva, Minsara Kanavu became a classic, loved across generations.

๐ŸŽฅ✨ Creativity thrives when we push boundaries. What was once doubted became a masterpiece!
