Today, I was deeply blessed to visit St Xavier’s University, Kolkata, New Town Campus, and spend time with my dear friend Dr Stephen G, Assistant Librarian. This visit was a sacred reminder of the wisdom found in Proverbs 2:6: "For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding."

As I walked through the hallowed spaces of the library, I felt the enduring spirit of Jesuit education, rooted in St. Ignatius’ profound call to “find God in all things.” Witnessing Dr Stephen’s unwavering commitment to the service of knowledge and the Church’s mission, I was reminded of the beauty of faith harmonizing with intellect.

As I departed, the words of Matthew 5:14 echoed in my heart: "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden." Truly, this institution stands as a testament to Christ’s call for us to be witnesses of His light and truth.

May St. Xavier’s University continue to flourish as a sanctuary of learning, faith, and service, guided by the grace of our Lord and the intercession of St. Francis Xavier.
