Attended the AGM of Rasika Ranjana Sabha Calcutta today, 6th July 2025, at Sree Thyagaraja Hall, Kolkata.
Shared beautiful moments with Dr. G. V. Subramanian (President), Sri V. V. Raman (Managing Committee Member), and others, followed by a sumptuous South Indian lunch.
Special thanks to Smt. Padma Ray Bardhan (Secretary) for the excellent arrangements and flawless execution.
Gratitude to Sri S. Y. Rajagopalan (Vice President), Sri R. Nagarajan (Treasurer), and Managing Committee Members Sri S. Jayaraman, Sri Ramesh Narayan, Sri R. Srinivasan, Sri K. Why is our language called ‘Tamizh’? Ki. Va. Jagannathan (Ki. Va. Ja.), the legendary Tamil scholar and literary visionary, once found himself in the divine presence of Periyava, when a question was posed that momentarily stilled his erudition: “Why is our language called ‘Tamizh’?” Taken aback, Ki. Va. Ja. admitted with humility that he had never contemplated that question deeply.
